Case histories of patients with seasonal and food allergies treated successfully in our clinic through Homeopathy.

 

Patient 1 - Seasonal Allergies

Patient R, a male of 40 years came to our office, with allergies for 8 years and complained that it got progressively worse. He had been on Anti-histamines for 5 years, but he stopped responding to increased doses of anti-histamines. He was prescribed steroids but the patient didn’t want to take steroids, so he came to us for natural treatment. The patient complained of seasonal allergies associated with chronic sinus infection. Complaints started every spring initially, but progressed to be all through the year. His symptoms were running nose, watery eyes, and redness and itching in the eyes with chronic fatigue. Patient also complained of difficulty in falling asleep because of his allergies and snoring on laying on back. Asthma was brought on by allergies and cold wind. Patient also suffered from Migraine and it was brought on by stress. He had no nausea or vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound associated with his migraine. Patient was also on Synthroid, a medication for hypothyroidism for many years. Past history of recurrent colds, recurrent tonsillitis, chronic sinusitis and Asthma.

The complete history of the patient with the presenting complaints was analyzed to come up with the remedy that would improve the immunity of the patient and also balance his thyroid hormone level. The patient was prescribed a homeopathic preparation of a mineral that matched his personality and energy in a similar level. He was also advised to make changes in his diet and use a neti pot to prevent infection of the sinuses. The patient was followed up once every month for a year. After a month of starting the treatment, patient reported decrease in the allergy symptoms and improved energy. He also reported that the frequency of migraines had decreased considerably and the sinusitis was non existent. He was asked to wean himself slowly of all the anti-histamines and Synthroid at this time. After 4 months, his blood levels for the thyroid hormone came out to be normal. He did not have any asthma attacks that winter and has been well since. He has become a friend and an advocate of our practice since.

 

Patient 2

A girl child of 5 years was brought to us by her parents for treatment of allergies. She was considered pre asthmatic by conventional doctors and was prescribed nebulizers. The parents were scared that she would become asthmatic and were seeking alternative treatments that would cure her of her allergies. The child had constant nasal discharge with blockage of nose alternatively and had difficulty sleeping and eating. The child also had chronic cough for a year and was taking anti histamines which did not help. The child was weak and crying due to lack of energy. The mother said that she did not have energy to play for a long time or even sit. She felt tired quickly and had to lay down on and off during the day. The child was mainly on a diet of milk with Pediasure as a supplement, as the mother thought she was not getting enough nutrition due to lack of appetite. The child had a history of recurrent ear infections and recurrent colds in the past for which an array of antibiotics was prescribed. Family history of Asthma was also reported.

The parents were advised to decrease the milk consumption from the child’s diet and increase the consumption of green vegetables and fruits. Along with that, advice was given to refrain from using anti-bacterial and anti-viral wipes and disinfectants in order to improve the child’s immunity. A homeopathic remedy made from a plant was selected according to the similimum of the child and administered to the child. The child was followed up for 8 months. During this period, there was a marked improvement in the allergy symptoms and also the child’s immunity. She didn’t catch colds as often  like before and when she did, she got over them very quickly on her own without the need for any medications. The child was completely free of symptoms after 2 months following the treatment and had remained well. The mother who became a patient later reported recently that the child did not have any allergy symptoms even after 3 years after stopping the remedy.

 

Patient 3

A lady age 47 yrs came to us for allergy testing for her food allergies. She said she couldn't find what the allergy was and she was breaking out in hives and had itching on her ears and anus from certain foods. We explained to her that if with treatment her allergies don't disappear in a few months, we will do the testing and she can live with a diagnosis of allergies to a certain food but with no cure. She agreed and we started the treatment. She
